About Me

Bio:

Franklin, New Hampshire's Matt Anderson is locked and loaded for the 1st Annual "DT 100" for Make-A-Wish. Like many of his fellow racers in the event, Anderson got his start in racing in karts. After sliding behind the wheel for the first time in 1994, it didn't take Anderson long to reach success.

In 1996, he was crowned the Northeastern Manufacturers Cup points champion. The same year, he took the Bridgestone/Firestone New England Championship as well. Championship runs continued for Matt Anderson the following year, as he took his 3rd championship in 2yrs. in Thunder Road's Stock Medium class. Later on, Anderson moved on to run the Mini Stock division at Canaan Fair Speedway. In his 5yr. run at the New Hampshire oval, he scored a very impressive 20 wins.

Long after the gates closed for the season at Canaan, Anderson hit the road for a little "outlaw" action. In 2006, Anderson invaded Lee U.S.A. Speedway's "Oktoberfest" with his #49 racer. The trip paid off, as the outsider dominated the race that hosted some of the top 4cyl. talent in the Northeast. Just like Groundhog Day, Anderson returned to Lee the following year and repeated his 2006 performance.

In the meantime, Matt had been laying the groundwork for his future Late Model adventure. After a few years of hard work, he put the finishing touches on his new RSB Chassis Late Model, and was finally ready to slide behind the wheel of his shiny white #49. Although missing a good portion of the season in 2008, Anderson made up for lost time as in only 6 weeks behind the wheel of his new ride, he scored 3 heat wins and 1 semi feature win.

After parking the Late Model for the winter, Anderson decided to have a little fun and enter the "Halloween Howler". The All-Star Speedway event is arguably one of the most competitive and popular Enduro events in the country. Not only did he have a blast, he took home the "1st Place" hardware for his 4cyl. win as well.

For 2009, Anderson plans to continue honing his skills at the beautiful White Mountain Motorsports Park oval, along with trying his hand at a select few ACT events as well. Anderson already has a few practice runs at Victory Lane Indoor Karting under his belt, and I can assure you from my experience racing with him, there will be many guys spending the day watching the back of his helmet!
